Overdrive eBooks & eAudiobooks for iPhone, iPad, Android & Kindle Fire

First-time setup

  1. Get the OverDrive app

Find OverDrive on the App Store (iOS), Play Store (Android), or Appstore (Kindle Fire) and open it.

  2. Sign up for an OverDrive account.

Though you can skip the sign-up with a library card number or Facebook account, we recommend an OverDrive account. For more information, search for “What is an Overdrive Account” at help.overdrive.com.

  3. Add your library to the OverDrive app

In the OverDrive app, swipe from the left edge of the screen to open the app menu and tap Add a library. Search for “corvallis,” then tap Corvallis Library and Oregon Digital Library Consortium. The Library2Go collection will open within the OverDrive app.

  4. Sign in and add a library card

Tap SIGN IN, then Sign in with Overdrive. Enter your OverDrive account user name and password. Optionally, check Keep me signed in on this device. Add your library card number when prompted.

  5. Extend the default loan period in Library2Go (optional).

Tap the right-side menu icon and My account then Settings. Select 21 days.

Borrowing

  1. Go to Library2Go

Swipe from the left edge of the screen to open the app menu. Tap Bookshelf and Add a title. Want a bigger screen to browse the collection? Sign in to library2go.lib.overdrive.com on a larger device (e.g. desktop computer), but note that only books with the format EPUB eBook or OPEN EPUB eBook are compatible with the app.

  2. Find a book

Search for a title or browse the subjects and collections, in the right-side menu .

Tip: Use the Available Now filter to hide checked-out books. Find the Filters menu at the top of a Subject/collection page or search results.

  3. Borrow a book from Library2Go

Tap a book cover, then tap BORROW. To adjust the loan period tap the options button to the right of BORROW.

Note: Books will self-return at the end of the loan period. You can renew titles (within three days of expiration) by tapping the account button and Request again. If the title has no holds, you can borrow it again as soon as it expires. There is a limit of 6 items borrowed and 6 items on hold.

  4. Download a book from Library2Go

On your reading device, tap the account button in Library2Go to find the borrowed book, and tap DOWNLOAD. For eBooks, choose the EPUB eBook or OPEN EPUB eBook format.
