  1. Create a Zinio account.

On any device, go to rbdigital.com/corvallisbentonor/service/zinio and click Create New Account in the upper-right corner.

  2. Install the Zinio for Libraries app.

Note: If you intend to read magazines on your personal computer or if your Kindle Fire is not an HD/HDX you cannot use the Zinio app. Skip ahead to Checking out magazines to read about streaming magazines in your browser.

    iPhone, iPad, & Android

    1. Find the Zinio for Libraries app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). Sign in to the app with your new account.

    Kindle Fire HD/HDX

    1. Permit your Kindle Fire to install unknown applications.

Different versions of the Kindle Fire have different menus. In general, tap Home, open the top menu, and look for More or Settings then Device or Security. Toggle Allow apps from unknown sources to the on setting.

    2. Download and install the Zinio for Libraries app.

In your Kindle’s browser go to the RBdigital Gateway at [rbdigital.com/corvallisbentonor], tap the Browse Magazines button, and tap Kindle HD/HDX in the bottom-right corner to download. Open the top menu to see the progress of the download. When the download is complete, tap the file to install it. Sign in to the app with your new account.

Checking out magazines

  1. Log in to the Zinio magazine collection

Tap the Checkout Magazines button in the Zinio for Libraries app or go to rbdigital.com/corvallisbentonor/service/zinio. Tap Login in the upper-right corner.

  2. Check out a magazine

Click a magazine cover, then click the Checkout button. There is no due date for magazines and no checkout limit. Some current issues have a limit on the number of simultaneous checkouts.

Reading & Returning

Read in your browser or in the Zinio app

To stream the magazine in your browser, click the Start Reading button.

To download the magazine to the app for offline reading (and for a better experience on mobile devices), tap the magazine cover in the Zinio for Libraries app. If the cover has not appeared, tap Refresh Library in the settings menu.

Tip: When reading a magazine in the Zinio for Libraries app, tap the center of the page for options. To close a magazine, tap the upper-left corner of the screen while the options are visible.

Return a magazine (suggested for the current issue of The Economist)

To return a magazine tap Edit, tap the red X next to the magazine, then tap Done. There is no need to return a magazine because there are no due dates. However, current issues of The Economist only check out to 25 users at one time, so please consider returning it as a courtesy to those who are waiting for it.
