cloudLibrary eBooks for Nook & Kobo devices with Eink screens

First-time setup

  1. Install the cloudLibrary app

    Download the app for Windows or Mac from and install.

  2. Connect to your library

    In the cloudLibrary app, select your country, state, and library. Enter your library card number and PIN. Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your library card number.

  3. Turn on holds notifications

    To be notified of arrived holds, click on the My Books tab, then Account Profile, and Email Notification. Click Yes, notify me and provide your email address. cloudLibrary will send a verification email.


  1. Find a book

    Open the cloudLibrary app on your computer. Click Browse for genres and subjects or click Featured for new books and curated lists. To hide checked out books open the view menu and tap Available Now.

  2. Borrow the book

    Tap the book cover and tap Borrow. Note: Books will self-return at the end of the loan period. They cannot be renewed, but a book can be borrowed again if there are no holds on it. There is a limit of 6 items borrowed and 6 items on hold.

  3. Return the book early

    Click My Books and tap Return Books near the upper-right corner to toggle the return option. Click Return. Note: This is an optional step because books will self-return at the end of the loan period.

Transferring to Nook or Kobo

  1. Connect your eReader

    Connect your Nook or Kobo to your computer with a USB cable.

  2. Transfer a book

    In the cloudLibrary app, click My Books to locate the book and click Transfer to Device on the book cover.
