April 29th | 12:30 – 4:00 PM | Main Meeting Room |

A total solar eclipse is coming August 21, 2017! Join the Heart of the Valley Astronomers to learn about the eclipse, including how to best enjoy it while staying safe. This free class is suitable for teens and adults. The HVA is offering four different opportunities to attend in order to accommodate various schedules:

  • April 17
  • May 17
  • June 19
  • July 20

All classes are at 6:30 – 8:00 PM and take place in the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library Main Meeting Room.

National Astronomy Day

In addition to the information sessions, the Heart of the Valley Astronomers are celebrating National Astronomy Day at the library on April 29. From 12:30-4:00 PM, they will have their telescopes set up for solar viewing on the library patio! If the skies are cloudy, join them in the lobby for information and activities.

Participants in the class will receive a free pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses.
