Corvallis Book Club
The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library Book Club is open to everyone! We meet to discuss fiction and nonfiction every third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. via GoToMeeting. Email askalibrarian@corvallisoregon.gov for details.
Craft and Chat
On temporary hiatus. Ages 16 and up are welcome to join us for crafts and conversation every first Friday of the month from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. Use supplies you can find around your house to create a new craft led by library staff or special guests from the comfort of your own home!
Games Day
On temporary hiatus. All ages are invited to play board games, card games, and video games one Saturday a month from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. beginning in November and ending in April.
Graphic Novel Club
The Graphic Novel Book Club meets the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. via GoToMeeting. Email askalibrarian@corvallisoregon.gov for details. Anyone 18 & up is welcome!
Library Takeover (for Adults)
On temporary hiatus. Adults ages 18 and older are invited to play Nerf games, video games, or try a new craft after hours on Friday nights approximately once every two months. Nerf equipment and light refreshments will be provided. Free! No registration required.
Misinformation & Fake News
Learn strategies for identifying misinformation in online news in this librarian-led workshop typically held once a month. You will learn how and why misinformation proliferates online, how to identify and find authoritative online information, how search engines work, how to search Google and other websites more effectively, how to find the source of viral content, and more.
Random Review
Random Review is a deep exploration of a selected book by a reviewer with expertise on the topic or theme of that book sponsored by The Friends of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. Sometimes reviewers cover a classic, series, genre, or author, but usually they cover a specific title. Whether you have read the selection or not, you will love Random Review! Reviews are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. and are open to the public and free of charge. Register here.
Sip & Spell: A Spelling Bee for Adults
On temporary hiatus. A spelling bee for adults ages 18 and older (all ages are welcome to watch) that is typically held once a year.
Summer at Your Library
June-August. Read and complete activities to be eligible to win fabulous prizes every summer. Challenge yourself to try something new or just read as much as you can – the choice is yours!
Take Apart Workshop
On temporary hiatus. Ages 10 and up are invited to take apart old appliances and electronics and find out what is inside. Take Apart is typically held twice a year in September and March from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Walking Book Club
Open to all adults! We meet to discuss fiction and nonfiction every third Monday of the month from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. June – September via GoToMeeting. Email askalibrarian@corvallisoregon.gov for details.
