If you have questions about Delivery — please see below for some answers. Or feel free to contact us at 541-766-6448 or 541-766-6793.

How it works:

After you sign up for Delivery, when placing holds, select Delivery as the holds pickup location. When your holds arrive, they will be on the Corvallis holds shelves for a few days while they wait to be delivered. You are always welcome to pick up your holds in person, but if you do not pick them up within a few days, we will deliver them.

If you are an Alsea, Monroe or Philomath patron and would like to pick up your holds at your home branch instead of using Delivery, please contact your Branch Library.

Anyone who has a library card and resides or works in the library’s service district, which includes most of Benton County. If you have any questions about your eligibility for delivery, please call us and inquire: 541-766-6448 or 541-766-6793.

It depends on the overall number of deliveries and when individual holds arrive! Generally, you can expect one delivery per week.

You do not need to be home. Delivery drivers will knock on your door and leave your holds nearby, unless you leave other instructions. We do not send delivery notifications at this time, but you can expect a delivery within 3-7 days of the items being checked out on your account.

Delivery is a free service.

This is an opt-in program. Patrons must use the online registration form here, call the library, or email us and ask to be included. Our phone number is 541-766-6448 or 541-766-6793 and our email address is askalibrarian@corvallisoregon.gov. At sign-up we will ask you for your library card number, delivery address, phone number, and any special delivery instructions.

There are no limits, except for space in the vehicle! We will deliver what we can. If there are sufficient staff to do so, we will attempt to deliver to you about once a week.

The easiest way to request more materials is to search on the catalog website, catalog.cbcpl.net, for what you want, look for titles listed as available, and click the “Place Hold” button, and make sure the pickup location is set to “Delivery”. You will be prompted to log in with your library card number and PIN. If you need help navigating this process, please give us a call at 541-766-6448 or 541-766-6793 and we can walk you through it.

If you don’t have your card number or password, give us a call at 541-766-6448. Library staff will verify the information on file and can either place requests for you or reset your password.

Please return materials to a book drop at any CBCPL library branch: in Alsea, Corvallis, Philomath or Monroe.  If you expect deliveries in the future, you can also leave your returns visible near your door, labeled as library returns. Library staff making the next delivery to you will also pick up returns, as long as they have space in their vehicle. We understand this might cause your items to be returned a little bit later than usual, but we no longer charge overdue fines.

This is an opt-in service, and you can opt out at any time! Call your home library branch to stop delivery service, and select your preferred branch as the pickup location next time you place holds.

We have been delivering for a couple of years now, and the process is getting more streamlined as we go! You are welcome to sign up for delivery if you wish to. In fact, within Corvallis and Philomath city limits, it is highly likely that we are already delivering in your neighborhood on any given weekday. You, our community, have made it clear that you appreciate delivery service, so we will continue to provide it for the foreseeable future!
