Kids Book Club

Kids Book Club: Take-Home Kits The Kids Book Club is for kids reading beginning chapter books. The Kids Book Club includes a paperback copy of a beginning chapter book, discussion questions, and a craft. A limited number of copies of the book are provided by the Friends of the Library. Please contact Youth Services Librarian Kristin with any questions. The 2024-2025 Kids Book Club Kits will be offered on the following dates: Saturday, January 4th, 2025 (Mindy Kim and the Lunar New Year Parade by Lyla Lee) Saturday, April 5th, 2025 (Mary Pope Osborne's The Magic Tree House [The Graphic Novel]: Dinosaurs Before Dark adapted by Jenny Laird, illustrated by Kelly & Nichole Matthews) Summer 2025 dates & titles to be announced. Upcoming Title Mindy Kim and the Lunar New Year Parade by Lyla Lee January 4, 2025: Mindy Kim and the Lunar New Year Parade by Lyla Lee, illustrated by Dung Ho Mindy is excited to celebrate the Lunar New Year! Even though it's the first one without her mom, Mindy is determined to enjoy the day. She decides to make traditional Korean New Year food, a rice cake soup that's her favorite. But things aren't going quite to plan, and the celebration doesn't feel the same as it did before. With the help of her family and friends, can Mindy find a way to still enjoy her old holiday traditions, and create new ones along the way? A limited number of kits will be available for pick-up beginning Saturday, January 4, 2025 on a first-come, first-served basis at each library branch.
