Summer Reading is a free, annual program that runs from June 1 – August 31. There are lots of ways to participate for people of all ages, from babies to adults! Starting June 1, everyone can pick up a reading log at any of our library branches, then keep track of days of reading and activities completed throughout the summer. Check below for more information by age group.
Kids age 0 to 5th grade
1. Stop by the library to get a summer event flyer, a reading log, and pick out a free book to kick off a summer of reading!
2. For every day you read or listen to a book, mark off a space on the reading log.
3. Check the calendar for some free, exciting, educational, and entertaining events all summer long.
4. Between July 15 and September 10, return your completed reading log for a book bag and a small prize!

3. Once you have at least 10 points, you can bring your reading log to any branch to pick out a free book and a book bag.
4. You also get an entry into a prize drawing for every 10 points you earn, so keep going if you want more prize drawing entries, up to 6!
4. Return your completed activity log by September 10, 2026.
