  The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library system affirms that we will be an inspiring and vital part of the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds in our Benton County communities. As we experience social unrest in our communities and across the nation, we would like to remind everyone that the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library system is a refuge for all and will remain so. The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library system will continue to promote what is stated in the American Library Association Bill of Rights, promoting “equal access to information for all persons” and recognizing the ongoing need to increase awareness of and responsiveness to the diversity of the communities we serve. We recognize the critical need for access to library and information resources, services, and technologies by all people, especially those who may experience language or literacy-related barriers; economic distress; cultural or social isolation; physical or attitudinal barriers; racism; discrimination on the basis of appearance, ethnicity, immigrant status, religious background, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression; or barriers to equal education, employment, and housing.
