Tween Book Club

Tween Book Club The Tween Book Club is an at-home kit for tweens in grades 4-6. Each kit features a paperback copy of the book club selection, craft supplies and directions, and discussion prompts. The Tween Book Club kits will be available to pick up at your local branch library on the date(s) listed below. While supplies last. First Readers Book Club

Fun Zone! First Readers Book Club for Kids: Take-Home Kits! The First Readers Book Club is for kids who are reading early reader books. The First Readers Book Club includes a paperback copy of an early reader book, discussion questions, and a craft. If you are beginning to read and love books like Elephant and Piggie, Frog and Toad, Biscuit, and Fly Guy - this book club is for you! R.E.A.D. Dogs

READ Dogs Kids can practice reading in any language to trained therapy Reading Education Assistance Dogs (READ Dogs). Readers can collect a special trading card for each dog they read with! Permission form is required and available on-site. Limited spots available. Fall 2023 dates: 1st Tuesday of each month 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Brookes Reading Room, Corvallis Library The Reading Education Assistance Dog program (R.E.A.D.) provides beginning readers an opportunity to practice their reading skills in a non-threatening environment. The dogs and their handlers will work with individual children on a one-on-one basis for approximately 10 minutes during a session. There is no charge for this program. The dogs and handlers have been insured for liability and have undergone reading education training in addition to their extensive training and registration to do animal-assisted therapy.

Winter Break Family Movie & Craft

Thursday, December 28, 2023 | 1:00-3:00 pm | Main Meeting Room | Join us for a family movie featuring the animated elements of nature in Disney | Pixar's Elemental! Rated PG. Runtime is 1 hr 43 min. Through partnerships with Chintimini Chamber Festival, Corvallis~OSU Piano International, the Friends of the Library, and other music programs in the community, the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library offers periodic music performances and special events for children and families.

CBCPL BookBox

Delivery of Materials to Local Public Schools  CBCPL BookBox is an outreach service connecting the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library’s materials with local public schools. Participating classrooms receive a regular delivery of thirty specially-selected library materials to support classroom instruction and encourage reading and research skills. A mix of grade-appropriate fiction and nonfiction materials will be included and special topic requests will be fulfilled when possible. There are no fees or fines associated with CBCPL BookBox. Learn more & sign up for this service here. Educators are also invited to apply for a Classroom Card. With a Classroom Card, educators can check out materials for their classroom without any overdue fines.
